Build the number sense that makes math feel easy — before worksheets and drills.
Number sense is your child's ability to intuitively understand quantities—knowing that 7 is "more" than 4 without counting. Research shows this visual quantity intuition is a stronger predictor of math success than memorizing facts. Number Garden uses fast-paced visual games to strengthen this foundation, complementing what they learn in school or apps like Prodigy. Just 5–10 minutes a few times a week can make a difference.
This game develops the Approximate Number System (ANS)—the brain's built-in ability to estimate quantities without counting. Strong ANS is linked to better math outcomes from kindergarten through high school.
We intentionally hide numerals to exercise quantity intuition, not symbol recognition. The brief reveal time prevents counting, forcing players to rely on their "gut sense" of which pile has more. This strengthens the foundation that makes learning numbers meaningful later.

Pizza Tycoon teaches fractions through "Fair Sharing" — pizza arrives pre-sliced and kids share it among friends.
Grade Levels:
K: 2-4 Friends, equal slices, very forgiving.
1: 2-4 Friends, multiple slices per friend.
2: 3-6 Friends, thirds and sixths.
3: 2-8 Friends, eighths and equivalence.
4: 5-10 Friends, fifths and precision sharing!
5: 2-6 Friends + equal pepperoni distribution!
6: Shapes, composition, and master-level fair sharing!
Goal: Build visual intuition for equal shares and fractions by distributing pre-cut slices fairly.
Grades 5-6: Introduce proportional reasoning by requiring fair distribution of toppings too!
Critter Café builds fair sharing intuition—the foundation of division.
What This Trains:
Why No Numbers?
We hide numerals to exercise visual quantity sense. Kids develop an intuitive feel
for "fairness" without symbolic math, building the foundation that makes division
meaningful later.
Grade Levels:
K: 2 critters, forgiving tolerance
1: 2 critters, tighter tolerance
2: 3 critters, overfull enabled
3: 3 critters, exact equality
4-5: 4-5 critters, mixed treat sizes
How to Use:
5-10 minutes, 2-3 times per week. Encourage quick decisions rather than counting!
Monkey Mayhem trains visual quantity tracking—a core number sense skill.
What This Trains:
Why No Numbers?
Research shows that children who can quickly estimate "which group has more" without counting
develop stronger arithmetic skills later. This game builds that intuition through fast-paced,
engaging gameplay.
Grade Levels:
K: 2 monkeys, slow bananas, no shuffling
1: 2 monkeys, "which has more?"
2: 3 monkeys, faster pace
3: 3 monkeys with position shuffling
4-5: 4 monkeys, mixed question types, fast action
How to Use:
5-10 minutes, 2-3 times per week. Encourage watching the whole screen rather than
focusing on one monkey!
